New here? Remember that Twitter is optimized to make you into passive consumers, by en(r/g)aging you with content that you don't choose yourself.
Here, that doesn't happen. But it also means you're responsible to find people to follow.
It will take some work.
If you're willing to put that in, you'll find a wide variety of friendly people that will be happy to have meaningful conversions and laugh and cry together with you.
Start by searching and looking at who other people follow.
Excuse me but "Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg won’t talk to the Guardian. So we fed everything he says into an algorithm, built a Zuckerbot, and interviewed it" has got to be the best take. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/dec/22/zuckerbot-mark-zuckerberg-facebook-botnik
Xmas with Depression & Anxiety
Do I hate holidays? No. I hate me. Xmas means being social and I don't want to talk about me. The expectations of getting together for the holidays brings on the anxiety. I want to enjoy seeing friends and family, and I can, but the holidays bring expectations IN MY MIND and that makes it a difficult season. It's not that I don't want to celebrate or that I don't like Xmas.
Extremely niche electronic item I wish existed: media player in the form factor of an iPod nano, SD card storage, supports .flac, can play videos, and uses a transreflective LCD with front lighting so I can use it sans backlight, and if I do need a light it's not being projected directly into my eyes.
I would go for an e-ink display were I never including videos.
Oh, and some sort of podcast management integration to track episodes listened.
Great, the right to repair is affecting the US Military - out of all institutions - so now it seems it now has something in common with Tesla cars owners, farmers driving John Deere tractors, and those who own but can't repair their own Apple products.
so, i run selfcare.tech but rarely talk about why.
it was on the tail of a med incident. a blood vessel burst in my retina & i had a blind spot in one eye that took over a month of recovery (after a panicked trip to the ER).
it burst because of the *stress* i was under, partly from some life stuff, but mostly because of my work situation.
after that, i started gathering resources & sharing them with others. eventually, i made the website so i could share easily & it went from there. #selfcare
Writer, video editor, motion graphics occasionally pay me. Creating art and having conversations fuel me.
